About this artwork

Ayatul Kursi Gold Leaf Portrait Calligraphy Canvas

A tall portrait canvas with a shimmering, textured gold surface. Ayatul Kursi is written in black lines across the right side, the Basmala sits above it in deep maroon, and the verse's closing words, wa huwal aliyyul azim, rise along the left side in large, bold sweeping strokes.

Meaning

Ayatul Kursi, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255, describes Allah's eternal life, His knowledge and His authority over the heavens and the earth. The Prophet ﷺ called it the greatest verse in the Quran (Sahih Muslim). Its last words mean: and He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Read Ayatul Kursi with transliteration, meaning and recitation in the Verse Library.

Colour and Composition

The large closing phrase acts as a bold frame for the finer lines of the verse, so the piece reads both as a statement from across the room and as text up close. The crinkled gold texture catches the light differently through the day.

Artwork Highlights

  • Ayatul Kursi with the Basmala
  • Large, bold Wa Huwal Aliyyul Azim along the side
  • Textured metallic gold-effect background
  • Black and deep maroon lettering
  • Tall portrait format

Where It Belongs

  • Entrances and hallways
  • Living rooms with warm lighting
  • Prayer rooms
  • Offices and reception areas

A Meaningful Gift

A striking gift for a housewarming, a new office or a wedding, with a verse many families keep at the heart of the home.

Handmade Details

Brushwork, layered paint and small variations in the lettering are part of a hand-painted piece and are not flaws. Colours can look slightly different with room lighting and screen settings. The exact size, materials and framing options are confirmed with you before you order.

Artwork containing sacred Arabic words should be displayed in a clean, elevated and respectful place.

My kids love it

We put the Ayatul Kursi Gold Leaf Portrait Calligraphy in the family room and the children ask about the meaning. Lovely way to talk about the Quran at home.

Thoughtful packaging

Corners protected, wrapped well, and a short card with care instructions. The Ayatul Kursi Gold Leaf Portrait Calligraphy came without a single mark.
