How do you write my English name in Arabic?
Arabic spells names by sound, so one English name can have several Arabic spellings. Common Muslim names have standard spellings, which the preview shows instantly. For other names the artist confirms the spelling with you before painting.
Is the preview what the final painting will look like?
No — the preview uses digital typefaces to help you choose a style. A commission is composed and painted by hand, so letter proportions, flourishes, and spacing are adjusted to suit the name, size, and colours.
Which calligraphy style should I choose?
Naskh is clear and classic, Thuluth and Ruq'ah feel flowing and ornamental, Kufic is geometric and modern, and Nastaliq is graceful and popular in Pakistan and Iran. Tell the studio where the piece will hang and we will recommend a style.
