Start with the room
For a prayer room, choose a verse that supports reflection and keep the composition uncluttered. For a living room, a larger canvas can become the main focal point above a sofa or console. Entrances work better with medium pieces that can be seen clearly without crowding the wall.
Handmade Islamic calligraphy art in Pakistan is often ordered for family homes in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, and other cities, with delivery details confirmed before dispatch.
Choose the verse carefully
Ayatul Kursi, Surah Rahman, the Four Quls, Bismillah, and short remembrance verses are common choices. If the verse is personal to your family, share the exact reference so the studio can confirm the Arabic text before painting.

Size, height, and spacing
Hang the artwork so its centre sits close to eye level, roughly 145 to 155 cm from the floor, unless it is above furniture. Over a sofa, bed, or console, leave about 20 to 25 cm between the furniture and the bottom of the canvas, and choose a width of around two-thirds of the furniture below so the piece feels anchored rather than floating.
Viewing distance matters as much as wall size. A verse seen from across a living room needs larger lettering than one beside a prayer mat or a desk. If you are unsure, measure the wall and share a photo; the calligraphy size guide walks through common wall sizes in more detail.
Displaying the Quran's words with care
Many families keep Quranic artwork in clean, dignified places: living rooms, entrances, studies, and prayer areas rather than bathrooms or spots close to the floor. A secure hook, a level hanging, and a place away from cooking steam and direct sun also protect the painting. Our guide to hanging Quranic verses respectfully covers this in more depth.
Palette and finish
- Black and gold reads formal and timeless, and suits entrances and majlis rooms.
- Blues, whites, and turquoise feel calm in bedrooms and prayer corners.
- Green and gold recall Madinah and suit verses about the Prophet ﷺ.
- Gold leaf catches light, so it shines brightest in well-lit rooms.
- Whatever the colours, keep strong contrast between lettering and background so the verse stays readable.
Quran verse art questions
Which rooms suit Quran verse art best?
Prayer rooms, living rooms, entrances, and studies work well when the artwork is placed respectfully and the verse remains easy to appreciate.
Can I request a specific Quranic verse?
Yes. Share the Surah and ayah reference so the exact Arabic text, size, and design direction can be confirmed before production.
How big should Quran verse art be?
Let the length of the verse decide. Short phrases such as Bismillah or Ma Sha Allah stay readable on small canvases, while long verses like Ayatul Kursi or Ayat an-Nur need medium to large sizes so the lettering is not crowded. Above furniture, aim for roughly two-thirds of its width.
Can I hang several Quranic artworks together?
Yes. Keep one palette or one frame colour across the pieces, leave an even gap of about 5 to 8 cm between them, and treat the group as one artwork when you centre it on the wall.
