About this verse
Surah Al-Kawthar is the 108th surah and the shortest in the Quran, with three verses. Allah tells the Prophet ﷺ that He has granted him al-Kawthar, commands him to pray and to sacrifice, and declares that his enemy is the one cut off.
Al-Kawthar means abundant good. In a hadith in Sahih Muslim the Prophet ﷺ described al-Kawthar as a river in Paradise that his Lord promised him.
