Why the 99 Names are displayed in homes
The Prophet ﷺ said that Allah has ninety-nine Names, and whoever learns and preserves them will enter Paradise (Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim). Many of the Names appear directly in the Quran, such as in the closing verses of Surah Al-Hashr.
In calligraphy, the Names are usually arranged as a grid of medallions around the Name Allah, or a single Name is painted on its own as a focused reminder — for example Ar-Rahman for a family room or Al-Alim for a study. See Al-Mu'min in Surah Al-Hashr 59:23.
